Mouse University

Speaking of babies and what it takes to raise them, I’d like to take this opportunity to describe a great fun(d)-raising idea initiated by our Volunteer Support Team last Christmas.  Mouse University Scholarships!  Purchasing the Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate of Live Prey packets helps us fund the nutritious food these youngsters need to get them through Mouse University and out on their own in the wild.  What the donor gets are a raptor stuffed animal or finger puppet, a prey finger puppet, and a certificate.  Won’t you help?  These make great gifts!

Bachelors Degree - $30
Masters Degree - $50
Doctorate Degree - $70.

Purchasing or raising a nutritious, fresh, varied diet for the birds in our care is our single biggest expense, estimated to be nearly $30,000 this year.  The clinic birds are here to grow or heal, and it takes good food to do that; likewise, our resident birds are here for life, utterly dependent on what we can provide.  Good food is a necessary ingredient for a long and healthy life (and some of these birds have been with us 20 or more years now!), and it is also enrichment and used for training.  We appreciate whatever help you can provide!
